Pope Francis has nominated a professor of the Angelicum, Brother Simon Francis Gaine, O.P., as a member of the International Theological Commission (ITC).
The ITC’s mission is to assist the Church’s Magisterium, and in particular the Congregation for the Doctrine of Faith, through theological advice and the study of important theological issues.
Brother Simon teaches in the Angelicum’s Faculty of Theology and holds the Pinckaers Chair in Theological Anthropology and Ethics for the Angelicum’s Thomistic Institute, of which he is the Acting Director. He is the author of Will There Be Free Will in Heaven? and Did the Saviour See the Father? Christ, Salvation of the Vision of God.
