JP2 Lectures // R.R. Reno: Christians in the face of political polarization

On Wednesday, March 15, 2023, we invite you to the seventh JP2 Lecture, which will be given by R. R. Reno, Editor of First Things. The lecture entitled “Christians in the Face of Political Polarization” will begin at 4:30 p.m. (CET) in Aula 11 at the Angelicum (Largo Angelicum, 1, 00184 Rome).

Students are also invited to an open seminar with prof. R. R. Reno which will take place before the lecture: on Wednesday, 10:30-11:30am in Aula 15.
The topic of the discussion will be “The Postmodern Context for Theology,” drawing on excerpts from two books: Return of the Strong Gods by R. R. Reno, and The Triumph of the Therapeutic by Philip Rieff.

R. R. Reno has served as Editor of First Things since 2011. He received his PhD in theology from Yale University, and taught theology and ethics at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska for twenty years. He has published in many academic journals, and his opinion essays have appeared in CommentaryNational Review, the Wall Street JournalWashington Post, and New York Times, and other popular outlets. His most recent books include The End of InterpretationReturn of the Strong Gods, and Resurrecting the Idea of a Christian Society.
